The Right Look to Impress a Lady
Lately this frog has been getting some attention on social media (I actually saw them on Facebook) for one main reason…the awesome mating colours of the male. During most of the season, both genders are a dull olive-green colour and not very fashionable; however, once mating season comes around the males go all out to impress the ladies. They put on a fancy, bright yellow jacket (okay, maybe their skin just turns that colour but cool nonetheless) and accessorize it using two bright blue vocal sacs. How does this impress the lady Bullfrog’s? I am not too sure and I haven’t had the opportunity to interview one yet but my guess is the brighter the colours, the more appealing the mate. So if you are looking to impress that new girl in school, maybe try wearing a bright yellow shirt and painting your cheeks bright blue – I guarantee you will get her attention!

What About the Indian Bullfrog Tadpole
Like other frogs, the Indian Bullfrog also has a very important tadpole stage (well, I guess all stages of development are important but I just find tadpoles to be the coolest). While in the tadpole stage, they are very carnivorous and quite exceptional at catching their prey. These little guys will typically feed on other tadpoles in their area, which may seem cruel but what can you do in a dog eat….oh wait, I guess it would be a tadpole eat tadpole world. In order to catch their dinner these baby bullfrogs will stalk them from the bottom of the pond, speeding towards the unsuspecting prey at the most opportune moment before crushing them with their powerful jaws. All I know is I am glad I am not a tadpole as that life seems far too stressful for me!
