4. Madame Berthe’s Mouse Lemur
One of the smallest primates in the world as well as the smallest lemur would be Madame Berthe’s mouse lemur. In average, it measures 9.2 cm, and is commonly found in the western part of Madagascar, in the Kirindy forest. It was named after the Madagascar native, conservationist and primatologist Professor Dr. Madame Berthe Rakotosamimanana, the Secretary General of the Groupe d’Etudes et de Recherche des Primates, or GERP.
