3. Gidget
Or more commonly known as the Taco Bell dog with that very popular catch phrase. He came to fame in 1997, originally as a replacement for Dinky, the dog that appeared in the older commercials. Nevertheless, Gidget stuck around, appearing in more commercials for the fast food chain. He’s become a household name especially in the late 90’s, with all kinds of merchandise with the pooch on it. But alas, his fame didn’t last forever, as back in 2000, a group of Hispanic lobbyists claimed that the dog represented a racist stereotype and Gidget immediately faded away into the background until his death in 2009.
