9. Shamu
Who doesn’t know Shamu? The main attraction at Sea World in San Diego, California back in 1965. She is the only second female orca to be held captive and the third one that was displayed to the public. Despite what we’ve seen in tv shows and in movies, killer whales don’t really like to be ridden, and thus the news of Shamu trying to attack a trainer who kept wanting to do that came out. Although Shamu had already died from a blood infection in 1971, the name has since been used as a stage name for the future killer whales that are in the shows.
