You know several years ago I said, “I consider the day to be a total loss, unless I learned something new.”

I did not know Marine Iguanas could shrink. Unbelieveable. Now I wonder if this applies to land living iguanas also, or, other creatures?

  Well, I am glad that you were able to learn something new today. I think constantly learning helps contribute to a happy life.
  
  As far as I can tell, only the Marine Iguanas have this unique adaptation in response to famine. It might just be that similar studies have yet to be conducted in other animals. I know the Galapagos is a very harsh environment and the animals that survive there have adapted some unique characteristics. I was unable to track down any research that has been completed on the Galapagos Land Iguana to see if it has similar traits as the Marine Iguana.
  
  Basically, I have yet to hear of any other animals having this ability but I can’t 100% say that other animals haven’t adapted this unique characteristic. If I ever come across something, I will be sure to post it.
