Hi Everyone! Hallo allerseits!

Well, this will officially be my first blog and the launching of a project of mine. Nun, dies offiziell mein erster Blog und die Einleitung eines Projekts von mir. My goal is to research 1000 different and interesting wildlife facts. Mein Ziel ist es 1000 verschiedene und interessante Tierwelt Fakten Forschung. I will be presenting one every week-day. Ich werde demnächst eine jede Woche-Tag. Even though it is a weekend, I figure I will present my very first interesting factoid today, but first lets give all of you a little bit of information about me. Auch wenn es ein Wochenende ist, Figur, die ich präsentiere ich meine allererste interessante factoid heute, aber erst geben, können alle von Ihnen ein wenig Informationen über mich. My name is Nathan and I have a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Wildlife and Habitat Ecology. Ants – Formic Acid Ants - Ameisensäure
Throughout my studies I have always enjoyed learning about the some of the smaller animals in the world that people may find disgusting. Während meines Studiums habe ich immer genossen haben, das Lernen über die einige der kleineren Tiere in der Welt, die Menschen finden ekelhaft. Of course, I am talking about none other than insects. Natürlich freue ich mich über nichts anderes als Insekten sprechen. So I shall start the blog with an interesting fact about Ants! Deshalb werde ich die Ameisen Start der Blog eine interessante Tatsache über! Numerous species of ants are able to produce a chemical called formic acid (often used as a preservative) for a variety of purposes. Zahlreiche Arten von Ameisen sind in der Lage, eine Chemikalie namens Ameisensäure (oft als Konservierungsstoff verwendet) für verschiedene Zwecke zu erzeugen. Research has shown that they will mostly use this chemical to defend against predators by spraying it from specialized glands.
