Welcome back to another exciting week of bizarre animal facts. I hope all of you enjoyed your weekend as much as I did. We are going to start the week by heading to Argentina to learn about the smallest species of armadillo. So if you are with me then grab your passport, make sure your liquids are not in your carry-on and don't even think about saying Hi to Jack once you are in the airport. Good, we are all ready to go so let's head to South America! Welkom terug op een spannende week van bizarre dieren feiten. Ik hoop dat al je genoten hebt van je weekend zo veel als ik. We gaan de week te beginnen door de post naar Argentinië om te leren over de kleinste soorten gordeldier. Dus als u met mij dan pak je paspoort, zorg ervoor dat je vloeistoffen zijn niet in je carry-on en zelfs niet na te denken over zeggen Hi Jack als je eenmaal in de luchthaven. As I mentioned the Pink Fairy Armadillo is the smallest of the armadillo family weighing in under a pound and measuring only about 6 inches in length, excluding their tail. The colour of this armadillo is also unique. Zoals ik al zei de Pink Fairy Armadillo is de kleinste van de familie gordeldier wegen in het kader van een pond en is slechts ongeveer 6 centimeter in lengte, met uitzondering van hun staart. De kleur van deze gordeldier is ook uniek. If you haven't figured it out by the name and the picture then I guess you are having a rough start to the week. Instead of waiting for you to finish your coffee and catch onto the colour of the armadillo, I will just let you know that they are indeed pink. Technically, they are a pale rose colour but since I am a dude, my colour palette doesn't have the weird colours like rose. Als u nog niet het uit te vinden en vervolgens door de naam en het beeld dat ik denk dat je een ruwe start, met om de week. The pink fairy armadillo loves to eat ants and will do so by burrowing close to ant hills. This doesn't seem fair for the ants but you just can't control who buys the property next to your house. If you look around the virtual version of Argentina you will quickly notice that the pink fairy armadillo lives in a dry environment with a lot of sand. This works well for this little hard shelled animal since they are excellent at digging. The question that I ask is, does the pink fairy armadillo live in the desert because they are great at digging? De roze fee gordeldier eet graag mieren en zal dit doen door gravende dicht bij mierenheuvels. Dit lijkt niet eerlijk voor de mieren, maar je gewoon niet kan controleren wie koopt het pand naast je huis. Als je rondkijkt de virtuele versie van Argentinië zal je snel merken dat de roze fee gordeldier leeft in een droge omgeving met veel zand. Dit werkt goed voor deze kleine harde dop van dieren omdat ze zijn uitstekend in te graven. De vraag die ik stel is, heeft de roze fee gordeldier leven in de woestijn omdat ze zijn geweldig om te graven? Or are they great at digging because they live in the desert? Of zijn ze goed in te graven, omdat ze leven in de woestijn? I will let you make your own guess to the answer. Either way this armadillo is an impressive digger and has the ability to bury itself in a matter of seconds if they feel threatened. Interesting enough they will use their hard shell to act as a plug to the quickly made burrow. Ik laat u uw eigen schatting te maken van het antwoord. Ofwel manier waarop dit gordeldier is een indrukwekkende graafmachine en heeft het vermogen zichzelf te begraven in een kwestie van seconden als ze zich bedreigd voelen. Interessant genoeg zullen ze hun harde shell te fungeren als een plug aan de snel gemaakt hol.
Unfortunately, the pink fairy armadillo has been listed as threatened since 1970. Helaas heeft de roze fee gordeldier genoteerd als bedreigd sinds 1970. An increase in the human population, which is causing habitat destruction is putting these animals at risk. Een toename van de menselijke populatie, die de oorzaak is van de vernietiging van habitats geeft invulling aan deze dieren in gevaar. Their numbers continue to dwindle. This is just one of the many animals that are at risk due to habitat destruction. When will we learn, right? Hun aantal blijft slinken. Ah, it's so cute! Ah, het is zo schattig! We have lots of BIG armadillos where I live. We hebben veel van BIG gordeldieren waar ik woon.

The big armadillos are pretty cool too! De grote gordeldieren ook mooi zijn cool! I am sure there will be a Wild Fact on them at some point in time. Ik weet zeker dat er een Wild Feit zij over hen op een bepaald punt in de tijd.

We have lots of them around here as well, although most of the ones I see are of the pancake variety on the yellow lines. We hebben veel van hen hier in de buurt ook, hoewel de meeste die ik zie zijn van de pannenkoek ras op de gele lijnen. Your color palette comment made me wonder how the male of the species feels about his pretty pink coloring (probably not quite as mortified as a male ladybug, right?) Of course I also wonder if the female of the species sees the male in a perpetually romantic light sans glasses (you know, the whole “rose colored” thing…er, nevermind Uw reactie kleurenpalet vroeg ik me af hoe het mannetje van de soort voelt over zijn mooie roze kleur (waarschijnlijk niet zo gekwetst als een mannelijke lieveheersbeestje, nietwaar?) Ik ben natuurlijk ook benieuwd of het vrouwtje van de soort ziet de man in een voortdurend romantisch licht sans glazen (je weet wel, de hele "roze" ding ... eh, nevermind

That is too bad that you mostly get to see the pancake variety. Dat is wel jammer dat je meestal krijgt het pannenkoekenhuis ras te zien. Hopefully, they will evolve to avoid vehicles but by then we will have probably invented some new vehicle that still runs them over. Hopelijk zullen zij zich ontwikkelen tot voertuigen te voorkomen, maar tegen die tijd zullen we waarschijnlijk bedacht een aantal nieuwe voertuigen die nog steeds loopt ze over.
That is a funny thought about the colouring of the males. Dat is een grappige gedachte over de kleur van de mannetjes. Let's hope that it is just normal for them and they have no insecurities towards their pretty pink or red colouring. Laten we hopen dat het gewoon normaal voor hen en zij hebben geen onzekerheden ten aanzien van hun mooie roze of rode kleur. Besides, if it helps them pick up the ladies then I am sure they would be fine it! Trouwens, als het helpt ze op te halen de dames dan ben ik zeker dat ze fijn zou zijn het!

I wish we had some of those little guys around here – we have a boatload of ants, especially in the summer and sometimes they get into my cat food! Ik zou willen dat we hier een aantal van die kleine jongens rond - we hebben een boot vol mieren, vooral in de zomer en soms krijgen ze in mijn kattenvoer! Southern California is ALMOST a desert, isn't it? Southern California is bijna een woestijn, is het niet?

I am sure they would help out with all of the ants but then you would have little holes all over the place from these burrowing creatures. Ik weet zeker dat ze zouden helpen met alle van de mieren maar dan zou je kleine gaatjes overal in de plaats van de gravers.
It's okay to eat a few ants with your cat food, Sparkle. Het is oke om te eten een paar mieren met uw kattenvoer, Sparkle. It is just added protein Het is gewoon toegevoegde hoeveelheid eiwit

He is a cute little guy. Hij is een schattig kereltje. I could use him down in the front flower bed as I seem to have an overbundance of ants. Ik kon hem gebruiken in de voorste bloem bed als ik lijken een overbundance van mieren hebben. Too bad, humans are so destructive to so many different species, I wonder if we will ever learn! Jammer, mensen zijn zo destructief voor zo veel verschillende soorten, ik vraag me af of we ooit zullen leren!

It seems like a lot of people have an ant problem. Het lijkt een heleboel mensen hebben een mier probleem. As I mentioned to Sparkle, the ants probably would be less of a nuisance compared to a larger burrowing animal. Zoals ik al zei om te schitteren, de mieren waarschijnlijk minder hinder te vergelijken met een grotere gravende dieren.
As long as the human population continues to increase and money is to be made then I doubt we will learn our lessons anytime soon. Zolang de menselijke bevolking blijft toenemen en geld wordt dan in mindering gebracht Ik betwijfel of we zullen onze lessen te leren anytime soon. Hopefully the Government can manage the impacts but that is a trying task especially in some of the under developed Countries of the world. Hopelijk zal de regering kan het beheer van de effecten, maar dat is een taak probeert vooral in sommige van de onderontwikkelde landen van de wereld.
